Director of Community Engagement and Development

Growing Cincinnati's Modern Orthodox community one family at a time

Bringing with him years of experience in the Jewish social enterprise field, the Director of Community Engagement and Development for MOve2CINCY, Rabbi Drew Kaplan, greatly enjoys building and strengthening Jewish community. Rabbi Drew previously served as the rabbi/director of SoCal Jewish Student Services, providing Jewish educational content to college students and young adults in the Long Beach and Orange County areas in Southern California.

While there, he led many text-based discussions in collaboration with multiple Hillels, as well as serving as the in-house rabbi for Beach Hillel, MC’ing Shabbat and holiday dinners, as well as teaching classes and meeting with students. Rabbi Drew takes particular interest in exploring the wisdom and world of the rabbis of the Talmud, and loves to share about such explorations.

Prior to moving out west to southern California, Rabbi Drew greatly enjoyed his years at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah Rabbinical School, culminating in his ordination in June 2009. Having earned his BA in Jewish Studies from Indiana University, Rabbi Drew took courses at Ohr Somayach, The Ohio State University, and Yeshiva University.

Originally from central Ohio, Rabbi Drew returned to Ohio in the summer of 2018, choosing Cincinnati, along with his wife, Rachel, who serves as the Executive Director for Cincinnati Hillel, and their four children.
