Cincinnati Hebrew Day School is hiring two full time teachers for the coming school year:

Middle School Math Teacher      

POSITION SUMMARY:

The math teacher is responsible for providing quality instruction and classroom management. The math teacher will submit lesson plans, take part in weekly faculty meetings, and establish and pursue professional goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Teach two periods daily of 6th, 7th and 8th grade math, a total of six teaching periods.  Prepare and share daily lesson plans based on existing curriculum; collaborate, create, and revise curriculum; closely monitor and record student progress; correspond regularly with students and parents about student progress; establish and pursue professional goals; attend professional development and staff meetings; and fulfill other supervisory duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Two (2) years classroom teaching preferred. Bachelor’s degree required.   Demonstrated competency and experience with lesson planning; basic computer skills including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and PPT) and use of web-based tools like Google Docs

DESIRED SKILLS, TRAINING, AND COMPETENCIES: Masters degree in education or related field; Demonstrated competency in project based learning; with curriculum design using backwards planning; training in differentiated instruction; training in educational technology integration; prior participation in new teacher induction or other similar training; experience teaching while being observed; intermediate computer skills including Smart Board training, and graphic design.
